anyway, definitly not a vaccum leak. i've already checked everything.

by the "lower" gasket, i meant not the head cover rubber gasket...but the $60 crush gasket that goes between where the head meets the block...aka the combustion chamber.

i was just hoping this wouldn't happen, cause now i have to spend ANOTHER $60 on the gasket.

this little project has cost me roughly $200 so far...

p.s. sorry about your cereal. find me a new head gasket for cheap and i'll ship you a new box + milk.

you are a good cat, but it's ok.....cereal can be replaced for cheaper than 200 bones dude. ****...yea the gead gasket is leaking with a new gasket...**** man , that aint right! best repair fo that, get new head bolts and gasket, check the head and block with a straight edge or ruler, make sure the mating surfaces are A-1 man....i never heard of that happening unless the gasket was blown to ***. ....check and double check!!

hope you get that right man.

just ordered another head gasket

no bolts tho...

talked to the dealership dept at honda and they said the had may be warped...and this new head is off my buds bike which got oil starved so it's possible.

i think i'll either:
A: take the head to a machine shop and have them check it out
B: fix my old head(spark plug stripped) and put her back together

****, this looks like another week of work.

yup....i wonder if they can plane a few thousands of an inch off the head that may be warped???? no sure what the story could be on that. but it could fix it. getting the spark plug hole fixed is an option just for another spare head in case **** happens again.

let me know what happens.

Re: f4i transmission

i just thought of something.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

HOW CAN THERE BE OIL COMING FROM WHERE THE HEAD MEETS THE BLOCK????

isn't that the combustion chamber? where the air/gas mix and ignite? i thought there isn't supposed to be any oil in there in the first place?

the head is fed from a line i would think, but when the piston moves up in the cylinder the splash method of oiling is supposed to happen....but yea...that aint right man. sounds like a warped head or gasket problem. oil may travel through a capillary back to the crankcase, if ur head gasket isn't mating totally flat it'll let it seep out. if it's running out like a sieve...then you got mega issues with that motor....gunna have to check the plabne on that.....dry fit it, see if you can notice large gaps etc...

lol

it's not "pouring" out....but slightly leaking from multiple points...enough to provde a decent amount of smoke to blind the rider....and all the leaks are in the front of the head...

YA GOT THE HEAD ON UPSIDE DOWN/BACKWARDS /INSIDE OUT BRO!

yea...gunna have to make sure no burrs or dents/dings on the head as well as the block mating surface......oil is getting out tho...it has to be dealt with dirty feet. if the surfaces have defects, the gasket has dents or is crushed in a spot you will get that problem. c'mon man, take it off and check it out...get your torque specs and re-re the gasket and chain timing.... get a friend to help, just an excuse to drink beers

as for the head bolts, there was not torque sequence...the only part with a "sequence" was the one for the cam holder.

p.s. the best is cereal +PLUS+ ****...with fat free milk. yummmm

torque the inner bolts first with your spec, ie-25 ft/pds.....and work your way out. the 4 center most bolts in a "X" pattern then the other bolts criss crossing the head dude...hope you heal up and fix that bike man. eat lots of **** dude!!!

never do. haha

so i went back to the garage last night.

and I feel like a dip-**** now.

i was about to start gutting the bike again to get the new head-gasket in...i said **** it lets heard it run 1-more-time....fire it up, no leaks, after 5-minutes, i see smoke and it progressively gets worst....

turned up the idle to 5k

kept looking at there was no leak...hit rev-limiter a few times too...i thought either that, or i was blind. i inspected the head all around and the oil pan...i was startin to trip out...i guess at some point i had gotten oil on the headers (they are wrapped so it absorbs oil pretty good)

but i'm 100% sure the 1st time i started the bike, oil came out of the head (where the head-gasket is).

after another 20 mins of the bike running at 5k idle, the smoke stopped.

**** YEA!

wadda think? WTF could have happened? is this magic or wutt?
