Re: F4i idle screw relocation

I bought one of each... and the 900rr is longer.... I put the f4i cable on a while back so I don't have it to compare side by side, but I know this one is longer.

It's the same cable for all years 900rr, the part # above...

Re: F4i idle screw relocation

Alright so I have a 04 600rr and have it stripped down to the throttle bodies waiting to put in my second cable. It looks like the set screw is in a different position than the one shown in the pic of the f4i. I see 2 screws above my stock idle cable one is painted white im guessing these are the set screws which one should I remove.

i just did mine on my 04 for the second time cuase mine snapped...

where the throttle cables connect to the throttle bodies is where the set screw is you want to replace.

lookin at the front of the bike so the throttle is on your right and the clutch is on the left... now look at the where the cables connect. you want to replace the screw on the right...... you are also gonna need to cut the idle cable screw end shorter.

lucky for you i have a couple pics, hold a sec

Re: F4i idle screw relocation

in this pic you can see the end of the snapped cable... that is where you want to put your idle cable.

Re: F4i idle screw relocation

i did the mod on an 02 f4i yesterday. i screwed a 900 rr cable in the left idle stop(looking to the front of the bike). it works and all, but the bike runs really rich now. when i rev it, the revs drop slow, it puffs out some black smoke, and it afterburns (sometimes like a ****). its also really hard to start now. what did i do wrong?
