Re: Dumping the clutch

just read the beginning of this post..on lunch so i cant read thru the rest..sounds like ur progressing well..i am goin thru the same stages now..I can rock highway whoolies all day long for MILES in spreaders, stand ups, flamingo's etc...but tryin to slow things down to a "lot" speed is much harder than it looks...my cage is takin the beating of a life time...
Im on an 03 636, +12 rear +1 front (so basically up 10) idle is 3Kish. i can snap it up but i been finding it easier to snap it up to BP grab the brake and hold a steady speed and slowly let off the brake and the throttle to slow it down and stay in BP...still havent caught idle yet but im close..
keep it up man!

Re: Dumping the clutch

i ride a f3 -1 +11 i am having the problem that everytime i get to bp and try to take it past and scrape my bar (key word try, still about an inch from hittin it) i hit my rear break to bring it forward and end up stalling and coming down hard. i only doin 3mph about do i need to be going faster?

Sportmax and I have a spot out west by the foothills... po-po rolled thru the other day and thanked us for not doing it in public streets, and said that if we had a liability waiver with the owner, they'd leave us alone and let us the spot.

We got the waiver to the powers that be yesterday, and are just waiting an answer.

- * fingers crossed * -

What really helped me catch idle was clutching up to bp, leaning back, and getting on the brake AND gas in TINY increments.

Ideally (from what people keep telling me) you want to be at the "back" of bp, and just tap tap tap the brake to keep it in BP, vs using any throttle to keep it there. I found my sweet spot with the idle is around ~3600RPM's.

good luck!

pic from my first night at the lot on idle.. and yea i was running low pressure but picked up a nail and didnt notice til i got off. :YEAH

Nice shot man. I can't wait until my pics start looking like that lol.

As much as I think FIB / FIS will be easier, I'll stick with staggered until I get it.

Re: Dumping the clutch

FIS rocks! staggered i think is better for hwy ****... i think FIS helps me keep my weight centered more... and allows me to use my back foot like a cat uses it's tail for leverage... if that makes sense.

o and i had the hardest time straightening out my back leg! i wanted to keep my knee in the seat which was more comfortable while clutching up..so what i did was clutch to BP how i feel comfortable (knee in seat) and right as i get into BP, i just kind of stand up and straighten out the back leg.

i asked questions until my fingers wore down and my eyes turned red... but the only thing you can do is get out there and learn! and cover the back brake

Re: Dumping the clutch

you'll get it homie! :YEAH :YEAH right before you clutch it, think "higher-faster".. clutch it up higher than you're used to and quick.. don't go chasing it. if you dont get it, let it drop and try again.
