Gixxers Are Junk!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Gixxers Are Junk!!!!!!!!!!!
while im not a mechanic i would think smashing on the rev limiter would be the first reason why you could knock a valve out of alignment. personally, i stay off of it.
i change my oil regularly. i bought my pickup tube before i got into the whole scene.
small investments go along way. if you prep your bike for how you intend to use it and then maintain, guarantees max life ya think? cant bash on a bike that performs as well as it was maintained.

Re: Gixxers Are Junk!!!!!!!!!!!
all makes have some issues, pretty much like winning the lottery if you don't have any... which i have won so far, but who knows now since i said that.
Bought my 04 750 august 19th 2004 new and wheelied it out the parking lot and been on it everysince, had 14000 on it before i started stunting it and have yet to have a problem, always run 1 quart over, and that's pretty much all i do, but i do think that one thing has helped a bunch, i very RARELY EVER let it hit limiter. If i'm rocking long wheelies and i start climbing the RPM's, i always set it down between 10-11 if i can't slow it down soon enough for my liking.
They do suck on sub frames though, went through 4 last year before i finally found a guy who could weld aluminum good and knew where to support it, plus i run a piece of flat steel from the top rear set bolts to the bottom pass. peg bolt, not problems since. so i know i'm lucky with no motor probs, but maybe your riding has more to do with it than the motor...just my
