hahhahaha Good job, but the fawns all get kicked away from the mom when they go into estrous anyways. That is why you see the large number of deer hit on the streets around fall... they mostly are all yearlings getting kicked away from mama, or young bucks chasing.

If you shoot a doe with a button buck in tow, the general agreed upon philosophy is that the young buck will forever stay in your area and call it his home range. So you want to actually shoot does with yearling bucks/button bucks with them, and leave the fawn buck alone.
Kudos to you tho for takin a doe, since all deer are born on a 1 to 1 ratio, 1 buck is born for every 1 doe. And that is important if you ever want big bucks on your land, and a lot of them!! Keep them doe #'s down.

So, chances are, that in a couple of weeks that mom wouldv'e kicked your doe fawn away and got bred by a buck anyways!!! You see, it was born in June so it's around 5 or 6 months old.... that is why all deer are called 3 1/2 or 6 and 1/2...ect.
But anyways, at that age they are more than capable to live, forrage, hide, ......run off when you climb down from your stand..LOL... all on their own just fine.

To be honest... this late in the game up north, if the doe had it's yearling BACK with it, then actually man..... it may have ben bred already, and that would mean you shot a pregnant doe! hahaha Inseminated and in it's earliest form of pregnancy of course, if that is true! LOL

Anyways, you didn' t HAVE to shoot bambi you big meanie hahahahahahah good job... tender.. Yummy. hahahaha

Yep, and to think. I used to walk in alone all the time only carrying my bow and that was it. maybe a pocket knife. I don't like that isht.

I have a nack to bring out the craziest animal encounters anyways, that would be just my luck. Spill a bottle of doe urine in my back pack or somin and get stalked all the way 2 miles deep into the forest by a rutting buck, and a mountain lion/pack of wolves befoer they decide to rape and then eat me!!!

F that noise!!!
