i just put a reg./recit. in a month maybe two ago. it was brand new. now it went out again. last night i checked everything i could and everything else seems ok. output from stator, no battery drain, no shorts in the stator. whats causing this? i bet i put on less than 1k mi since i replaced it. i guess its the 3rd time i know of for this bike, it's got 20k mi on it. 02 gixxer 600. btw if anyone wants to donate or sell really cheap a working one i'd appreciate it.

 

just get another one. buy a quality part, not some cheap one or used one. theyre very finicky. my last bike it took 3 in a month. the one that lasted was from dennis kirk.com

 

Check the wires going into the rectifier. Sometimes they burn and melt.

 

Yep the connection between the wiring harness and the rectifier is a common problem spot on the gixxers, i hard wired mine. no problems since.

 

well turns out that was part of the problem, the other part..somehow when the gauges are hooked up they are drawing a current(bike off obviously). guess i have lots of hunting to do.

 

Just Take Off All Of Your Gauges..........problem Solved On That Issue
