So do you guys think this will hold up?
in all seriousness, my advice would be to go with the subframe (paralllel) and make your (a) welds or (b) holes for nut-serts and/or bolts and angle the bar appropriately to the ground. YOu can acheive the angle by standing it up at the 12 oclock point that you want. (you will need 2 ppl) Put a piece of wood or metal flat to the ground, and then with the metal that will be connected to the subframe, have it meet the piece of "metal or wood" on the ground. Then with a marker, mark the line on the metal.. that's your angle. You can then get creative and make the bar flare out to make it wider or whatever you want.

I have that ****. It reminded me of when I build a bar for my blaster when I was 10 and I wanted wheels on the bar so I could ride out wheelies.

What he is saying is true about the angle, also look at the picture - you see how your front wheel is sitting more forward than your rear, the bike doesn't even sit at 12 when on the bar which will make it unstable especially when your learning and you accidently put it on the bar.
When on the bar it should sit at 12 (90 deg.) or more for better stability.
I see some bad days coming..
