Clutch disengage issue

My CRF 50 is having a clutch disengaged problem. I tried to reinstall the clutch basket take it apart play With the cam and nothing seems to help.

Essentially when I Try to shift from neutral to first gear it wants to jump in the first gear. If I try to hold the clutch lever up where she normally stays disengaged Till I release the clutch, it's still trying to kick in the first year. Even with the bike off and rolling it in neutral and then Hand pulling the clutch lever And holding it is still locks the wheel.

What do you guys think is going on?

Re: Clutch disengage issue

Could be your clutch basket/springs/plates. There isn't much else it could be, unless your clutch isn't adjusted properly.

Re: Clutch disengage issue

Thing about the adjuster. I have another crf50 that works great. I tried to turn all the way clockwise and all the way counterclockwise to see if i could recreate the disengage and could not. Actually in all positions the clutch shifted fine. I also noticed there wasn't as much rotation as the one I have a bike I'm having problems. That adjuster can turn quite a bit both ways. One direction caused the shifter to not go up or down.

So it couldn't be a tranny problem right? If correct ill just buy a clutch basket on eBay and call it a day

First of all what kind of clutch and tranny set up do you have in your 50? Is it stock?

It's gotta be the clutch basket somewhere. Can someone show me pics of how the cent hub fits in and assemble goes. I bet the last owner put it in backwards

Re: Clutch disengage issue

I put the plates and hub back in exactly how alextheman on YouTube did and still same results. Shifting from neutral there is no disengagement and just slams into 2nd on the upstroke....

Re: Clutch disengage issue

you know..i was thinking maybe the guy before me put a HD clutch kit in....

does the HD clutch make shifting more aggressive?

to better describe what i am talking about....lets say you start the motor....and you are ready to take off. So you take your boot and shift....on the split second of the upshift, it kicks into gear and launches your *** forward.

on my other crf50 that i build...which has alot of suspension mods and a big bore kit but no clutch/tranny work....when i shift to first, its very tame and i can actually just sit there in gear with the engine running...when i am ready to take off, i just hit the gas.

what do you guys think..its driving me nuts.....
