i wouldnt say you were doing it to show off to your friends. they will make an example of you. stay away from the im a foreigner too. they want your money, and if you arent from around there, even better. they would rather fine some out of towner than one of their own people.
get a lawyer, if you cant, you need to go and plead inoccent. they will set up a trial and then at the trial, if the cop doesnt show up, you are off. the key is to get as many extensions as possible. if the cop does show up, you need to plead no contest at the trial. this way it wont be used against you in a later court date.
