Re: Do you need a Die for making a cage?
i say make it off the bike.
im a fabricator/machinist/TIg welder and went thru a powers cage (not greatest fit by the way) and now run a FI cage and must say that thing went on super easy and is nice. its a hassle to make your onw NICELY. just buy one
but thats not what you wanna hear. get pre bent tubing ir a cheap bender, chop saw, make some flanges for teh ends and a MIg welder will do

i use 1", .095" wall tubing bent with a JDsquared high dollar tubing bender. welded with a mig. the first cage is always made off the bike which can take some time and then every other cage after that can be a breeze if a jig is made for that particular cage.

have you wrecked hard with that .95 wall? it will fold up like a pancake
you need a bender, a way to notch the tube, and a welder. if you cant get a bender or pre bent tube, then use 90 and 45 angle connectors for your bends

sch80 is possibly the worst thing you could make a cage out of. that **** will shatter when it hits the ground. you might as well u se plastic pvc. and .250" wall tubing is waaaay out of hand man. that b*tch will weigh 50 pounds when yer done.

what dies do you have?
if you take a bigger die like 1 1/2" you can make it work for at least one cage. you wont be able to mass produce or make it too accurate, but you can get the bends you need to build one cage.
