929 Bent Shift Fork.....how to replace?
I have been told by about 10 people now that i probably have a bent shift fork in my 929. In first gear and first gear only it always slips into neutral at about 5k rpm. Has anyone ever done a shift fork? Do you have to pull the motor? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You gotta pull the motor and split cases to pull the tranny.
If you have to ask, it is likely above your mechanical abilities.
I can do alot on a bike, but when I blew out 2nd on my bike I pulled the motor and took it to a reputable shop. At least if you just bring them just the motor your cutting the costs down. Still likely to be between $400 and $800 depending on the extent of the damage inside.
