I'm not 100%, but I believe that your stock gearing will be 16-43. So if you have a 15 on the front already then you most likely are already -1 in front. Just so you know, every tooth you drop in the front is equal to adding 2.8 teeth in the rear.

As far as stunting, if your just looking to add some ummph to your bike and make hwy wheelies a little easier, then sure go with the -1/+2. If you are looking to start slowing your wheelies down then you would want to go with a bigger rear sprocket, like a 50. Also remember that if you go up to a 50, then you will also have to get a new chain because the stock one will not be long enough.

Hope that helps.

Gearing shouldn't be the first thing you worry about.

Re: need some advise

Dude, we all started off where your at, but take this advice seriously.....learn to use the back brake. The way I tell people to use it is to do this: your right foot will normally 'ride' in a certain spot on the peg, so for example you will always put your foot in the same general position. Now, here is how I try to help guys that don't use it for wheelies; take that foot and scoot it about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch forward. This will make it easier to press the brake and make it seem more natural. Now, keep in mind that when you do this, try it with your left foot on the left passenger peg, or staggered as we like to call it. Take your time, go to a back road and work on it. It will feel wierd at first, but give it some time and it will all work itself out.

As far as the gearing.....if your already +2, then just ride away.....no reason to worry about gearing yet....
