that was the plan ... but i lost my caliper and micrometer set at some point in the last 5 years

i swear every 6 months i have to buy a new one last time, i just bought the cheap craftsman ones, and i bought 2 of them just in case, and theyre both already missing.

I keep one in my portable tool box and one in my big tool chest. I've had them for years.

I have an english set in my tool box at home. Old school Dial Mituyoto or whatever. I had a $12 harbor freight digital one for at work, but a guy borrowed them and then got fired.

 

They had a cheaper style in the book at NAPA, but only had the style with the centering cylinder in stock. I bitched about the price, but the centering cylinder makes keeping the nubs in the grooves a lot easier.

 

time to go do work for an hour

 

Time to go grab some more free lunch. I figure if I eat enough I can skip dinner.

how do you pull the hub after thats off???

 

take a paper clip and bend it into the notches to make sure the socket i am getting is right

 

lunch then off to get a hub puller since mines not coming off with elbow grease ... then off to ford to get all the replacement ****, then to get the new studs pressed in ... then back to clean everything and start reassembly and changing of parking brake shoes ... then to clean up and off to first day of class

 

There's a tool to throw in the toolbox and forget about. Along with the $15 32mm socket for doing the ball joints.

Man up and grow a pair. A BFH also helps.

 

Make sure you get a puller with a flat plate at the center or it won't work. Just man up and beat the **** out of it with a hammer.

 

**** ... wasted another hour ... no one has a flat puller ... should have just got one when i was at napa ... i have been smacking it with a bfh like no other - about to hook it to laceys car and yank it off
