Detroit auto show ass pic!
Re: Detroit auto show *** pic!
Yeah, that board sucks then. What helped me out a lot with getting up on plane was being used to having my center of gravity way off and having the fast twitch reflexes to re-center my weight. I was told it is like snowboarding on ice, but I think it is more like riding tracked up powder.
the type of board makes a huuuge difference ... i've ridden 2 different ronix and they were way different

The vdrive throws a much larger and more consistent wake. My ib/ob doesn't throw **** for a wake. Dedicated wakeboard boats also have ballast tanks and usually this plate that lowers below the hull at the back to throw even more wake.

My buddy stays sideways until he's up on top of the water. I kept trying that and it wouldn't work. I think I'm too heavy. This year I'm going to try dropping my back foot as soon as we start moving. We'll see if that helps.

man i want to hit the river so bad now
Re: Detroit auto show *** pic!
When you say deck boat do you mean Pontoon boat or actually a deck boat. It would be pretty funny to see people wakeboarding behind a pontoon boat.

True, but you don't have the $900 a month payment......even in February....

I think this board was an obrein. I'm definately going to buy my own with a more aggressive style. I don't need to be worried about an easier to ride board. I want to get whatever is closest to a snowboard.
I think Malibu has a patent on the plate/wedge system. Can you buy aftermarket ballast sacks?

Yeah, once the boat starts pulling you turn the board into riding position and keep your weight back and your arms straight out. Once you feel the board start producing lift pull your arms in to help yourself up. Worked good for me, but I am 180.

FOr general boating purposes I'd rather have the IB/ob so you can pull up the prop in shallow water.
