Don't misinterpret me, I don't think everyone should get it. I believe no one should get it, thats my first line of belief.

I say I think we should abolish this **** but if you think about it, how bad would crime be if people had no help at all.

Re: Omr Subcage !!!!!!!!!!!

the way a county usually figures the value of a house is through comparison , they look at the price of comparable homes sold in your area and then they asses your your value on recent sales and since prices have gone down the assessed value of your house will be lower ...your property taxes may even get lowered if the difference is big enough but i suggest you do a comparison on your own first cause you house may have actually gone up in value and they may charge you more .....lol

+1

My dad deals with a lot of arabs. He has told me numerous stories they have straight faced told him, usually about getting free money (food stamps, welfare, credits & breaks) when they definitely don't need it - then they send it all back home to the middle east.

If I pay in for say 40 years that im an active member of the workforce, and I only take out for a year or 2, that shouldnt cause a problem. People that never pay in can get a year or 2 to get on their feet, then no more money. If they cant get it going in a year or 2 then theyre fucked.

Absolutely true. They've done nothing but **** up for the last 8 years.

Anyone else heard that part of Obama's economic plan is to make it so your home is considered capital gains even if you've lived there forever? Right now if you live in your house for 2 years or more, you don't have to pay tax on the money you make. This makes sense because you have to buy another house and if the government is taking a cut then you have to buy a house that is worth less than the one you just sold if you don't want your payment to go up.

I know all of this. Our county auditor has everything available online too which is nice. I won't let the auditor in my house because I don't want them to see any of the improvements.

Yeah that is one of the only things I have heard from him I agree on. But that is almost the same line of thinking as Ron Paul. Eliminate "big brother" taxes and increase sales tax.

Right, but since everyone is now receiving benefits, you'll be paying in a shitload more than you were before. It'd be better to limit the amount of time people who need it, receive benefits. Then let everybody who doesn't need it, keep more of their money. If you have to give it to the gov first, then you are losing a lot of it.

You want to be taxed on the profits from selling your house when you have to turn around and spend that money in the same market you just sold in? Do you realize how much it would cost to upgrade houses like that? Capital gains taxes are no joke. Nobody could ever afford to move.

It would make it impossible to upgrade houses without winning the lottery.

Not only that but if the market is up, you couldn't move to a new area and have a house anything like the one you were in.

I had to go back and re-read, I totally misinterpreted it. I thought you said he wanted to eliminate capital gains on a house sale all together. I agree with you. I payed a **** ton of capital gains on a few years back, ******* ridiculous. like 20 grand.
