physically cannot cover the rear brake
physically cannot cover the rear brake
ok ever one says to cover the rear brake when practicing wheelies. i used to ride a gixxer 600 and all was swell. i recently got a 954 and the lever is much higher.when i do sit down wheelies, because of the angle, i physically cannot cover it. i looked in the booklet and is doesnt say anything about adjustment? anyone help me?
Re: physically cannot cover the rear brake
no seriously guys, i have my foot on the peg, then to apply pressure to the brake i have to take my heal off the peg and press down with my toe on the lever, thanks jay, maybe ill stop by some time later this week. . . looks like its gonna rain now
Re: physically cannot cover the rear brake

hahahahahahaha
but in all seriousness. the red arrow is the adjuster nut, the green arrow is the lock nut to keep everything in the same spot. you cant really see it cause of the angle of the pic, but its there. loosen up the lock nut, and turn the adjuster nut. one way will bring the pedal up, the other down. just look out for your break light switch. too much one way or the other and itll either stay on, or be really hard to turn on with the rear brake. the switch can be adjusted basically the same way, but its behind the lower fairing and kinda hard to see.

lol exactly.
Re: physically cannot cover the rear brake
its not that im short or have small feet, its just that the lever is so damn high and i have to have my foot pointed up as far as it can go to get it on there, even when i do its hard to give light pressure.
but thats for the help. ill try and adjust it.

not to be a dick, but usually i work with something for a day or so, look it over really good and try to figure out all possible ways of adjust/fixing something before i ask for help. alot of times, if you take 5 minutes to look things over you'll find stuff like that adjusting nut. i'm sure after someone said something you went "oh ya, i see that now".....
Re: physically cannot cover the rear brake
i bent mine when i dropped my bike in the driveway over the winter, and its adjusted as far down as it can go... still too high.. very uncomfortable to cover it when im wheelying... i need to either bend it back down or get a new one... until then i will wheelie without it

MUHAHAHAHA
and ansky, you have an f3, i'm too lazy to go look at my sisters, if the brake lever is aluminum you might as well just buy another one cause it'll snap when you bend it back. but if it's steel, go get a big *** wrench and bend that thing back man!
