No problem, Just use that clutch.. Power is dangerous... Always clutch.. Use the search about how to wheelie and you'll find some GREAT advice. I don't have anyone at all to ride with around here so I learned everything I know from reading here and practice... Stay up my friend..

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups

first time i ever power wheelied i looped out because if you're still in the gas once you hit that bp you're done for. clutching it up you can have more control over whats happening as the bike comes up more gas less gas as with power wheelies your already tapped out and hauling *** when you pull it up.

Ive seen alot of people loop out on power wheelie and on clutch wheelies but thats usually because with the clutch wheelies some people try go past their own limits not knowing what they are doing. but learn that brake. i had to learn the hard way. now i do all clutch wheelies screw that power wheelie bullshit

Still under power... Stand stag and clutch up going slow.. Your still basically doing a power wheelie.. just with a little boost to get up..

Go slower... Clutch harder... USE REAR BRAKE!!!!!!!

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups

clutch!!!!!!!
proper throttle control, brake control, and clutch control go together and must become second nature.
i don't just dump the clutch by reving and letting it go. i release it very quickly, but its more controled or kind of feathered out very quickly.
always cover the rear brake!!!!!! for me a good HB and and EZ pull makes a big difference.

clutch.................
comes up quicker (so you can hit BP at a lower speed and RPM)
more predictable
more controlable
feels more damgerous and scary but it isn't.
the only way you will true progress to technical slow stuff

pow pow..........
dangerous
easy for a noobie to get the wheel off the ground and think he can wheelie
if you only power up and never clutch up you can only do so much. you will be limiting yourself.

A buddy I ride with powers up highway wheelies and rides them at 70-75mph (Or however fast we're riding), only way he'll do it. He clutches at the lot.

x2

its a lot on just getting to know your bike.. i can tell just by my rps. when i ride fast stand ups. most the time i will just roll third gear till it feels right and just pop the clutch loose and catch balance point with my brake.

Never said he couldn't do it.
Not sure why you put the word lots in quotations, but he can clutch it if he wished to do so. He likes power ups better, so chooses to do it that way.
