Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
i power wheelie from 6K rpm and it comes right up to BP and i can control it fine,i really doubt anybody can do it from a standstill because the power just isnt there, not on mine anyways, im not going to lie, im scared to clutch it, i have done it a few times and im working my way to BP slowly, i would love for somebody in BR to show me how to clutch up a 1000 one day, because i would rather do it that way because everybody says its easier, but everybody that tries to teach me has a 600 and never owned a 1000
btw, im not reading 7 pages of posts, i read the first page and ther last LOL

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
Why! Why is there this notion that a 1000 is harder to clutch up in control then a 600?
It astounds me, whats the diff? Oh ya, more power. Who ****** cares, thats why everyone puts gearing on their 600's. To give them more initial torque on the throttle.
The 1000's allready have more torque. I used to rock a R1 2003 and then went to an F4i and now a 636.
I want a gsxr 750 now because there is nothing like having low end power to help control the bike when you need it.
The only thing I dont like about litre bikes is the weight.

lol u should have told him that we "yalls" peoples like to bang a goat, then def power wheelie it up with all yalls friends haha ****** popocop hahah
Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
i as well am a power guy it leaves me more control then clutch like say i gas to much before i clutch theni almost 12 o clock it with out meaning to where as a quick yank back to a certain degree at @5000 works every time and allows me to just roll upnice and smooth in first and in second a nice preload at @10000 comes up nice and smooth
Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
i got my first good clutched wheelie the other day in 3rd, after learning to do a good power wheelie, clutching it really is easy to control, im still trying to find the sweet spot that mine likes to come up at. also, im not real comfortable standing up and doing a wheelie but i want to, does it make it easier?

for somebody new to wheelies in general..the torque is a little overwhelming and it takes a little while to get used to it, my first power wheelie scared the shyt out of me, after learning to power it up, i am comfortable with how fast it clutches up.
Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
neither....keep the wheels on the pavement
i would have scared the **** outta me if my first bike was a liter bike....i woulda looped out the first try and sent the scrap off to the heap. besides that, clutch ups are more controlled, it's a slower wheelie....if you are worried about keeping momentum or dropping the bike, get a cage or don't wheelie period.

yea but ur bike is fuzzed out and obviously you are comfy doin that. try handing a 1000 to a real salty squid and tell him he has to pop it to bring it up.....
hope you don't mind taking him to the hospital.

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
I disagree, took like 20min to get clutch ups on my R1, and that was when I was brand new to wheelies.
I just told myself to quit being a *****. At first they werent right to bp but I was able to pop it up and work from there. Just go do it and lets see some vid guys!
