This is a good post, I saw a little bit of myself in it.

It's a tough spot to be in, people will push for details, and come at you hard for info, and once you get defensive it's easy to get over your head, to say what you intend to do as what you WILL do, and then you have to back that up or admit you were wrong.

Both of which are a lot like surrendering the high ground to haters.
Case in point, I learned a lot from trying to do a documentary about this sport. I did not however learn the critical skills necessary to finish a documentary.

If I had collected money from people to be in my doc I'd be forced to give it back at this point, but I underwrote the costs myself. There are a few points when I would have put that money in a pile and burned it right in front of you guys for being such ****** to me. But you guys were right about me not knowing what I was doing.

Doesn't mean I'm a bitch for wanting to do it, but I should have gone about it better.

 

I have been doing OK, it's hot as hell right now here.... for like 12 days straight over 100 "feels like" temps!!

I take it personal also when someone messes with me or my family so I understand totally man. I think they just wanted answers at first though, and then it all started again!! The less you say and the more you do, the less ammunition they have bro. They are pushing them buttons again! LOL I'm fiery too, part latino and part indian(feather) doesn't help.

I was looking for a spot to take some pressure off ya again, and when I opened my mail box to a bunch of bills and this month's SSB, I was like "oh hell no". If this dude got any stunting info from you, he probably wouldn't have published it anyways!!
I didn't even read the mag first, I gave it to a spectator at the lots on Saturday. Later when I parked my bike for a breather and came over to the truck, she handed my issue back and said "that mag sucks man, there were some pretty bikes in it, but what a dumb mag!" I felt stupid for even giving it to her to check out... I figured some of the dudes riding in front of her would probably be pictured in the mag...

What I'm saying is, guys....
All this bickering and drama doesn't bring much cofidence to the average fan, new riders, and possible investors, when some of the more influential people in the industry that are making the venues and covering them, don't seem to have a proper communication chain? Questions turn into accusations, and emotions come into play..... answers become attacks in defense and it all looks like a series of one-ups or personal attacks and defenses....
The truth of the matter is you and Dave are the ones that can sway this sport more towards the mainstream than most of us riders, pro and not. You guys with the money and the ideas and the ability to bring the stories about our sport to the mainstream are the pioneers that we need to make it progress. I wish we all could just work together sometimes and force it into the future as the kind of huge deal that we all know and wish it could be!!

Glad it is all good now though..... I'm keeping a bloodshot eye towards you to see what the outcome is with all of this and your show..... good luck! and if what you say is true, thanks for not selling out.

 

Brandon Bartels is one of my friends and he doesnt ride ne more i havent seen him ride in 4-5 months he did 1 lil show like 2-3 months ago someone needs to confirm if hell even go ne more the dude plays golf now i swear

 

with all the bullshit aside, i think a reality show would be completely dope, and i ve got my fingers crossed that it all works out

i alot of the guys i really didn't know at the time...and there are alot of main stream names but there will be 25 people in all and the rest are regular guys... to me regular is a guy with no ads or big time sponsors.... there were a couple more regular guys but they cannot pass certain test and everybody got the background done...that sent in the money... we needed regular people cause there was a different theme to the show but it has changed to a all out comp show and not a mentoring show

 

i diffenitly have a good agent and a laywer...and the reason i have so much pull cause this is a joint venture... i have more then 70% of the financing myself... most people who do shows go in asking for a show with nothing to invest but input... but when you are asorbing some of the cost you get way more pull

you were very close to me... i moved to shadow lakes off of dairy ashford and bissonnet. i don't know why they are gonna demo the joint...they should keep it around...but i don't think it will be for awhile until they do it

 

glad to see you are good... try not to pass out from all the heat... that was funny about the magazine... i wish i could pluck daves brain for info cause him seems like a resourceful guy... i would like to start a magazine called sector 7 that would have about 30 pages of stunting and 30 pages of hot chicks and other info. i wanted it to be like the magazine plush where they only publish regular cats and not celebrity rides like dub magazine... i seen a couple all skate mags and bmx mags...so i figure a pretty much all stunt mag would sell..maybe not as much as ssb but it would sell. but i don't know the first thing about starting a good magazine..and i don't want to put out some bs...but i think thomas is going to put out a all stunt magazine... he would probably be better at it then me... if he did i would buy ad space from him. well nice shooting the breeze with you... talk to you later.

All I know is bottom line its about the money, the cage companies did it and now Bishop has money to toss around so where do you invest next clothing and shoes we rock skate **** he sells skate **** labeled for stunters and you guys buy into it. Not hating Bishop if I had the money to do shoes I would have too but I am also not on the ohhh I gotta have stunter shoes band wagon either. People around here are "fad" buyers and buy **** cause joe blow popular has it not because its a well thought out thing in most cases, so why not get in somewhere no one else is and run with it and make some loot. Just like Full throttle and the brake fittings and other things that companies have developed that later got copied, who got the credit for it? The company that marketed the product right not the people that created it.

 

..that is very true... but you gotta admit flava of love was very entertaining... i wish i could take some of my dates to kfc and they would still love me in the morning. but on the real i actually was thinking of trying them...but i am sure me and spike can work it out

 

Some of them girls were HOT...I don't know what happened to Bret in Rock of love...they could have at least gave him flav's left overs...those chics on there are busted looking old groupies

what you say is true..to a certain extent... i do got a shoe company and i make them for extreme athletes not just stunters..the technology was intended for stunters but is good enough for skaters/bmx people to. many people have bought them and they like them better then skate kicks cause i fixed every flaw in the skate shoe..comfort,safety, and feel. if you took a poll of anyone who has bought the shoes..i am sure 90% of the buyers would agree. the reason i made the company is to make a market towards stunting... example... dc makes skate shoes and they made over 100 million in sales this year alone check the link at the bottom.. you think skaters are buying that many shoes..hell no..it is the people who want to be like skaters and get a taste of the lifestyle... i personally think the stunter style is way cooler then skater/bmx...plus we don't wear those tight as jeans that they wear . i feel what you are saying about the cage companies and brakes..and stuff... but to help the market grow there kinda has to be competition. and i make sure i do my part... all our advertising in stores has pictures of stunters on it... and all my shoes are named after motorcycle diverived names. and my main sponsored rider is borne. it will take time but in about a year or so... you will see kids/adults rocking the stunter lifestyle and brands you all use... you have to give them something easy to get a hold of and feel like a part of something... and appearal,shoe,hats, etc are the first step... then you will start selling cages ...hand brakes,bikes,and all the other stuff you need to become a stunter instead of just wishing to be apart of the lifestyle. and there is noone in my market right now that is making textile shoes that feel and look just like regular kicks..but protect way better.... it is hard to sell cages to a wanna be or someone who does not have a bike... but it isn't hard to sell good looking shoes to people cause everybody has feet. the same way dc gives back to skaters and bmx for people buying their product i want to give back to the stunt community by sponsoring riders and having bigger and better payouts..and if i can make 10% of what dc is making i can accomplish this my goals for stunting i bet more stunters would compete if the knew that they had a chance at making a few dollars. when payout are 1st,2nd,3rd mostly it makes the same people come out to compete... but our payouts are 1st-12th so more people have a chance to make a little more bread. sorry to hit you with the long post... but i just want you and others to see that we got something special here and for us to get big as bmx/skating we gotta expand the products to be more universal. take care man
