Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

I've read all the posts on here and I have to agree and disagree with a lot of it. I can understand buying stupid menial parts off ebay that god only knows where they came from, but buying stolen frames and stolen bikes just isn't good for the stunting community. When I buy parts, I buy them new unless I need something fast. If you break stuff on your stunt bike THAT much that you need to buy parts all the time... find another hobby, b/c your a$$ sucks at stunting! I pushed my 929 to the max and only wrecked like 4 times on that thing. I broke stupid stuff like a stator cover, a clip on, a lever or 2 and front brake reservoir.

If you can't afford to buy stupid $hit like that for $40 or $50, then get a god damn job or atleast a credit card that you put only your stunt parts on. I opened a credit card JUST for stunting parts. 0% on purchases for a year, $40 a month payment... so easy to do! Plus, if you go somewhere and buy parts from them a lot, 2 things will happen: (A) You'll meet some new people that can hook you up and (B) Most likely it will be a bike shop so you can get discount labor costs, parts, oil.... stupid odds and ends stuff.... and maybe, just maybe if you decide to have them sponsor you they will. Thats what happened with our stunt team... MotoAdventure Kawasaki sponsored us and we get everything for dirt cheap, plus we do shows for them in their parking lot. GREAT EXPOSURE!

This is just my 2 cents, rockin stolen parts is one thing.... but rockin a stolen bike is just wrong. We are all a community here and we all want the same thing, and no one here wants to see a fellow rider down b/c their $hit got jacked. You never know who you are stealing from!

Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

Nice dig.

I dont really have a legal issue with stolen ****, but I do sort of have a moral issue. As long as I dont know its stolen, i'll buy it.

Also, it depends on who its stolen from, sorta. If its stolen from some guy, hell no, I feel bad. On the other hand, if the owner just wanted to committ insurance fraud, im cool with that. I'm ok with stealing from insurance companies.

Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

Yea.. insurance companies are messed up!!! There are so many cases where insurance companies won't pay claims to vicitims involved in motorcycle accidents... thats F'in crap!!! But, on the other hand... the more stunt riders make false claims like that, the higher our insurance rates will be for those who are trying to have both a legit street bike (so they can rock the streets) and a not so legit stunt bike. I mean, I'm guilty of rockin the streets on my stuntbike with no insurance, but still... if I ever decide to put full coverage on say a minty 1000RR or something, I don't want my rates to be RIDICULOUS!!! So its a catch 22 either way you look at it!

F$%K INSURANCE COMPANIES.. BUT F$%K HIGH INSURANCE RATES!?!?

Thats like robbing Peter to pay Paul almost... just messed up all around!

Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

i'm against the stolen issue
i work entirely too hard to be supporting those who rob other people
instead i would like to take a baseball bat to their face
that way i can put an end to it, sleep good at night, and not have to wake up 25 times to check my ****
when a friend tells me his bike just got jacked i feel furious
i'm sick and tired of thieves

Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

most of us have had or have stolen parts on our bikes if we've gotten anywhere near E-Bay!

Insurance Scams are tricky and can get you in as much trouble as stealing someone's bike! Most people don't have a problem with scams or riding someone else's stolen bike because its not someone they know or are face to face with, but when it comes to their boy getting his bike jacked they wanna hurt someone.....double standard?

Plus its easy to get caught on stealing bikes or insurance scams because noone seems to keep their mouth shut. I know that if my bike got jacked, I would know who eventually, then I have to make my mind up between legal justice or street justice!!!

I won't be getting a frame or bike from e-bay or one thats knowingly stolen, but I have already picked up a motor from E-bay, and would prolly only do it again if I absolutely had to.

Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

Yo, If i don't buy the stolen parts the next guy will, so what difference does it make. I wouldn't want my stuff stolen either, thats why i keep it locked up. Parts aren't cheap. Bikes aren't cheap. I buy the best deal i can find, if it happens to be stolen that sucks for the guy that got his **** yanked but if you don't want it stolen don't let it be stolen.
I'll never steal a thing from anyone, but I can't turn down parts or bikes for half price or less even if they're less than ligit.

Re: Rock Stollen SHIAT or Not

legit is only way to go, and i hate it when people turn in false claims or total out there stunt bike. your insurance record will be with you for the rest of your life, after a couple total losses your *** will either get dropped or pay out the *** for insurance for a long time, and that goes for regular auto, home, life, health. paying double every month for the next 7 years will make you think twice about insurance claims. my stunt bike and g/f's bike are both covered, both have been wrecked multiple times and id never turn that **** into the insurance. id rather fix it myself and enjoy my $30 monthly bill for full coverage

on the other hand i'll buy any small cheap part *** long as i dont know where it came from. if i know its dirty ill buy from somewhere else

All my $hit is legit. As g@y as it sounds, I think it's bad luck to ride stolen $hit. Bad karma or something I guess...

Its sad to know that a lot more people do not have a moral obligation to themselves to not buy stolen merchandise. Sure someone else will buy it if you dont, but it feels good for me to know that all my the sh*t is legit and hard earned, unlike the greedy fu*ks that are out there selling and buying illegal sh*t. What if you found out that one of your boys bought parts off a motorcycle that was stolen from you? Too bad right? I mean you shouldnt have let you sh*t get stolen in the first place right?

Why pay for full coverage when you will never claim anything??? That sounds stupid even if you are only payin $30 a month.. I would just put theft on it and basic coverage. Probably only be $10 a month each bike.
