Clutch wheelies...

Quick question...Im pulling up the bike in first using the clutch but the problem is, is that i cant seem to ride them.. My question is that when im pulling it up, am i supppose to keep the gas steady or am I suppose to back off the initial grab then apply more throttle?

Re: Clutch wheelies...

thanks alot man...but it just explained how to clutch...I know the method I was just wondering if i had to hold the throttle or back off then back on smooothly? I mean as the wheel is in the air..to hold it up there at a good pace....would i have to just keep the throttle at where it is...or give it more gas?

Re: Clutch wheelies...

depends how high it came.. If the front didn't hit BP and is too low(which usually is the case) You need more throttle to bring it higher.

If the front is high at balance point, you need zero throttle or you gonna loop. If it went over, you need brake.

But I guess (because you are asking) that it's still relatively low, clutch it higher or give it more gas. First gear is usually little twisty... So you go up/down/up/down..

Re: Clutch wheelies...

I`m starting to get some semi decent wheelies going.
When I started in 2nd it would come uo but then straight back down.
Now, when it comes up I try to conciously feed it moe juice until it is at a hieght where I can ride it for a while-150-200mtrs.
Its still hit and miss for me.

Re: Clutch wheelies...

thanks for the info...I cant get them up in second at all...im rolling at about 5k in second pull the clutch in and letting it out and if anything im just getting it like an inch or so off the ground. By the looks of what you guys are saying..I think I need more gas and i should hold the throttle when letting it out..thanks for the info though guys...much appreciated
