ur gearing has nothing to with u goin 55 tryin to do slow wheelies. the only way to go slower is to use the brake. clutch it up harder, then catch it with the brake either at bp or past it. it sux to learn and u will prolly crash but its werth it. i learned with my idle at like 3k on an 00 r6. now i run like 4k becuz im werkin on no handers.

eeease her back-mash the brake
i just did drills like that until i got real comfortable

make sure all your bolts and cotter pins are intact in your rear brake, unlike they were on my bike
