The cluster on my friends R6 is reading the rpm's on the mph screen and the needle for the rpm's is at 3,000. I don't know how to fix this. The connection of the wiring is ok and there is no pinched wires. Is there a way to reset this or is it the computer or something. Any suggestions could help. Please let me know. THX

 

wen i got my r6 it had been sitting for around a year and the battery was totally dead. when i jumped it the tach werked fine but the speedo sed 50 mph while i was sitting at idle. maybe its the battery?

 

I think that your totally right. This bike has been sitting for a while too and we had to jump it with my bike. The battery has been acting really funny so i think that its bad. After you replaced the battery, the spedo worked fine??

could that be somesort of dealer mode? I think at least yamaha thunderace shows problems with rev counter. It shows 6000 for exup failure, 8000 TPS problems and so on?
