Can anyone give me some tips as far as slow wheeies go. I need a step-by-step guide. I've been working on it but it's just not happening for me.

 

Iv been having a hard time with brake & throtle control if anyone could give some help. whats a good idle for the 9RR for slow ****

 

i kept my idle on 4000k on my 636

 

Maybe i'm a retard but i'm rocking like 1000 idle, but I suck. Maybe I should turn it up, whaddaya think?:D

First, and i'm 17 up on my 636.

 

im down 1 and up 1 on my 900 RR , where should my idle be , i can pop em up and ride em out all day in 1st but i pick up way to much speed i realy dont want to go biger on the sprockets .

 

looking pretty good to me. It's a good start. I suck with the brake right now, im like pressing it too hard and my bike is having a really hard time getting up

 

High idle really helps while learning, but becomes a crutch later. I reccommend trying to rock with the idle up to get used to rear brake control without haveing to worry about throttle control at the same time, once you get good at that, then turn the idle back down and get the throttle control as well.

plus you have to have some idle to do no handers and those are pimp

 

But in order for it to catch the idle, dont ya gotta have at BP or behind?? I dont have my cluster on, so I no longer know how high my rpms are set at when on idle.. Just try to go off engine noise when turning the idle up..

i'll throw my 2 cents in on how i do mine. 5 mph and vroom it comes right up, but IMMEDIATELY im at like 55mph or so. thats wack. i think im gonna go 12+ in teh back to slow it down. i dont ride my brake when coming up, mayeb i should try that. for some reason i dont think about teh brake till im actually up there. i cant wait to get em liek you man, keep it up...literally :YEAH

 

Wow i started this thread and all i've gotton out of it is that skillz is the man and he's way better than me so far. Sweet advise, i still suck though

Turning the idle up made a big difference for me for learning the brake.

I do not use the brake on the way up...I did at first and it made things harder. I clutch it up an when it gets very high (bp or beyond) then I apply the rear brake.

Cool man see, it's things like that that really help. I am from Riverside, cali and i thought i have heard of SIC before. I should probably get a 12 bar before rocking slow wheelies huh? I ride a 900rr and an f4i. anything special i should know?

 

12 bar is not necessary for slow wheelies, but it is good as a "just in case" knda like a cage for your tail. But after you learn how to slow down, you will likely want to scrape as well.

 

slowing down is all in the rear brake
