geared gsxr problems

anybody having problems blowing motors or know anything about someone with problems. I ride an 01 750 gsxr that's 15 and 2 and i keep spinning rodbearings. I am starting to hear from a few people that suzuki motors cannot handle this steep of gearing. If anyone can help please do

Re: geared gsxr problems

I think some people are running an oil pick up mod to prevent this because holding them at 12:00 too long they are starving for oil.

I think... I'm still on engine number one but that's cause I haven't really learned slow sh-t yet.

Re: geared gsxr problems

very true ^ but also with steep gearing you're gonna rap out a lot faster and bang the limiter

Re: geared gsxr problems

The only way you are going to spin a rod bearing is from overreving or lack of oil... or... CONSTANTLY lugging your engine.. Don't set your idle at 4 grand and keep the bike at 1-1.5 grand while on one wheel. Turn your idle down if you want to go slower and learn to not use the brake so much. If you arent doing any of that, then you are probably buying **** motors. Just about all of the engines on ebay are shagged race or stuntbike motors. NOBODY sells good motors on ebay. If it is good, you have about a 99 percent chance of it coming back stolen if you run the numbers on it... if they arent already shaved off.

Re: geared gsxr problems

tell me more about the rod bearings. Do they offer custom sizes? if so that is AWESOME... are they supposedly any more durable?

Re: geared gsxr problems

I have built a couple motors with the RODS i have never had custom rod bearing made, you need to find a machine shop that can make you up a set out of the same material use by honda. Believe it or not honda production cars have some of the best highest tolrence rod bearing made. I would suggest using the aftermarket ROD h-beam style with the stock OEM rod bearings not unless you want to spend the big bucks. The stock rod bearing are good for 200+hp so you will not even come close the the limit. Also i suggest you put a oil pickup extension if you are stunting heavy. Peace bro
