Exclamation Re: clank!

the 'clank' sound is normal. Is this your first bike? I remember hearing that when I first got my R6 and wondering the same thing. My brother has a 2002 F4i and it does the same thing. As far as putting it in 1st or 2nd while rollin, you should be able to as long as the clutch is in. If you can't, I'd have it checked out. L8r

Re: clank!

It makes the "clank" sound because right after you pull in the clutch, the gears on the main shaft still spin for awhile, while the gears on the countershaft are motionless. If you don't want to hear it, wait a few seconds after you pull in the clutch before you shift into first.

Re: clank!

Sounds normal to me.
If i accidently hit neutral when riding i try to rev the bike up to the rpm if i'm in 2nd and then shift to 2nd gear.....same for 1st.
This is just what i do .
