Clutching 2nd gear standups

ive got a 95 yzf600 (not much power to work with) and i am fine getting the bike up in first- sitting clutch, bounce whatever but when i try to clutch it up in second while standing i feel like i cant hold onto the bar when the bike starts to come up. I only use one finger but i still end up crooked and drop it down cause i get freaked out. how should i position myself so i can drop it hard and stay on the gas? also, i would work on shifting from first to second in the air but yzfs are notorious for a weak 2nd gear so its out of the question for me. too poor for a tranny overhaul

Re: Clutching 2nd gear standups

Try your left foot on the rear peg and your right foot covering the brake. That way you get more leverage from your left foot. Hope that helps.

Peace Justin

PS Might be a little aqward at first but keep practicing.
