what wont start? will anything turn on? fuel pump prime? turn over? check spark? check fuel delivery?

Re: F4i problem

Headlight is already on a switch. As I mentioned above, the fuel pump primes but the bike wont attempt to kick over. I havent had a chance to look at anything yet but I'll check it out later tonight probably.

But i would be willing to bet that somewhere in your wiring harness a wire from the headlights and a wire for your coils is crossing. Causing the headlights to blow the fuse since that fuse is the smallest one, its gonna blow first.....=-)

PS: We cant just blaim the headlights. Since the headlights, blinkers, tach, tip sensor, fan and several other parts share the same GROUND wire. One problem with that ground wire anywhere in the wiring and it could cause the headlight fuse to blow...Anything is possible when it comes to a circuit.....=-)

PS: Have you tried jumping a wire over the fuse block. Just to see if it would run without melting the wire. Also have you tried a bigger fuse....Neither of these is the BEST thing to do, but im just throwing some ideas...=-)
The bike doesnt turn over - when the headlight fuse blows the fuel pump primes but the bike wont turn over at all. Not like when your tip sensor is disconnected and the bike tries to turn over and start - it doesnt do anything. I tried bigger fuses already coz thats all that my boy had at the spot - I tried a 15 and 30 amp fuse and they both blew also. Besides that I havent had a chance to look at the bike but Ima try to work on it tonight.

Thats your tip sensor. Do a search on here and youll see how to disable it. I forgot what color the wires were but you take the two outside ones and connect them together.

Re: F4i problem

secret weapons bike had a head light wire hitting the header and every time it blew the head light fuse his bike wouldn't run either

neals right you disconnected your tip over switch when you took off the upper , just connect the two out side wires for the tip over and that will by pass it
