Re: F4i not starting when warmed up

Bike is working Only thing though is somethings up with the fan. I plugged in my gauges and it didnt kick on til 225. It stayed on for 10 seconds and shut right off and the temp went over 230 with no fan I'm probably just gonna hard wire the **** so its always on

Yes omar you were right. It was something electrical I wish I woulda swapped the wiring harness before putting another motor in but **** it - the **** is working now

Thanks to everyone who offered up some advice. 2 months with no bike - I'm just glad I'll be able to ride again

LOL the harness was fine. I think when we put the new motor in we pinched wires or something and it fucked it up although I didnt see anything noticeably wrong with it when I took it off. **** it tho, Im just happy I can start ripping again.

Re: F4i not starting when warmed up

maybe when you took it apart to put the motor in after you broke the other motor you pulled some of the wires out of the back of one of the plugs , they can look fine but not be making a good connection

hard wire it bro...best thing you can do for slow wheelies and city riding /sitting at stop lamps for long times....plus i just wanted to say i have seen the clasps inside of harness connectors to draw back...the terminal male end is in there but nothing is going on, kinda like traco's burrito...know-wha-um-sayin?

I think im low on coolant so ima check the coolant level later. i might hook up a switch to it coz id like to be able to turn it off instead of having it running all the time. i know i could have the temp sensor kick it on when its supposed to normally come on as well as have the switch where i can turn it on when i want. ima check that out n probably do that. good looking on all the help and suggestions

Re: F4i not starting when warmed up

So check this out. Went into the garage to finish putting the bike back together - cage tank etc. Bike wouldnt start. I hooked it up to a car charger and it started right up. I took the charger off and I got 14.4x volts so I'm good there and getting a charge. I turned it off and nothing. I put the charger back on and initially it didnt start. I let it sit for a few til it started and then kept the charger on - turned it off and it didnt want to start even w the charger on. it eventually did start but you would have to let the charger stay hooked up for a few and then try to start it. With the charger on it, shouldnt it start right up if I turn it off and then turn it right back on??? Im hoping its just the battery coz if its not, Im all out of ideas and Im gonna kill someone

Re: F4i not starting when warmed up

the battery either needs to be charged fully or it is dead from sitting for so long ..

charge it over night on the low setting and if that doesn't work you may need a new one ..

I have a bike battery charger so I'll throw it on that overnight and cross my fingers. When I was replacing the harness though I had it on the bike charger and I fully charged it before putting it back on the bike so eh iono. Im cool with it being the battery lol. Im just confused why it started fine and now it sounds like the same thing I'll let you know how it goes manana

Re: F4i not starting when warmed up

i bet if u hook ur volt meter up to it when u hit the start button, that battery drops to under 10vdc, and ur battery is junk, im sure if u live near a dealership, they would load test the battery for u and tell u if its good or not, cuz if its not they will wanna sell u one, 99% chance, ur battery is JUNK!!
