F4i not starting when warmed up
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
wait a sec.....the bike starts cold but stops when hot????? check ur valves!!!!!!!!! when the cams and bucket get hot they expand, could be making the valves crack open just a bit once the engine is hot. my bro had a zx7r...took us forever to figure where the hot miss fire was coming from.....ran minty when cold....
Didnt you read any of the 10 pages
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
i did.....I'm thinking ok....i smoke alot of weed so .....um i lost my train of thought...THANKS MAN!
i know you changed the starter already...same thing happened........relays???? what if the relay isn't closing for the main? i think you have to do a voltage drop between the battery and the starter and/or the ground wire. heat causes higher resisitance in electrical equipment....resistance itself causes heat. got a spare ecu???? i'm trying to find a needle in a haystack here.... Does it run fine when it's hot or does it idle lower than normal? If it doesn't run well then I'm thinking it could be mechanical. If it runs fine and just won't start, it's probably electrical. This one has me stumped.
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
could have something expanding from heat dragging the engine slower as it gets hotter.
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
something in the starter drive? clutch..not the starter clutch but the engine /trans? hmm it would be rying to roll off on ya if that was it....excessive friction inside the engine? bearings? cam chain too tight? geez i'm thinkin...what that could be caused by.

Loosened the cam chain tensioner already.
Re: F4i not starting when warmed up
Im tired already bro. Tired of looking for this and checking for that lol. I got homeboy who sold me the motor coming by tomorrow so ima let him do what he wants to do first and then go from there. He keeps tellin me the motor is good and I keep tellin him his boys told me they beat the living **** outta this bike lol. Wouldve been nice to know that in advance

So who wants to laugh at my misery
So Mike & I put his spare motor in my bike. I finished putting everything together yesterday and heard a ticking which I thought the motor was fucked up. Turns out the motor is fine and it was an exhaust leak. So okay, I replaced the headers with my headers, tightened up the bolts put the tank on blah blah blah. Started the bike - sounds good. Let the bike heat up to around 190 and turned it off and now its doing the same exact thing it was doing before
When its hot it doesnt wanna run but from a cold start, it starts up fine. WTF
What should I do? Should I replace the whole wiring harness? It has to be something with that right???????????????????????????????????????
