600rr FUEL PUMP

The damn fuel pump isn't turning on. I built this bike from scratch, got everything put together, all the plugs are plugged in, vacuum lines are all in. I turn the ignition on and I can't hear the fuel pump turn on. Everything seems to be hooked up right and working except the fuel pump. Been working on this damn bike the last 2 days, thought I was gonna be done tonight but I guess not.

Any ideas?

Re: 600rr FUEL PUMP

check the gauge harness, www.600rr.net has a sticky in stunt section on rewiring to eliminate the gauge harness all together..

The tip over sensor in the front is VERY VERY touchy...I have it sodered with a jump wire..but that was the ONLY thing that kept going wrong associated with the fuel pump in my year+ with this bike!

Alright I'm over it. I'm just gonna bring it to a shop and let them figure it out. They gotta re-do my forks anyways.

Oh yea, I don't think its the tip over sensor. I break open the sensor, drain the water and rip out the piece that swivels. That way I never have to worry about the wiring and don't have to touch it.

J which year ignition switch did you use? I believe the 05-06 will not work with the 03-04 ...Manubi (Sp?) had a similiar problem with his 600rr and it was the ignition.

the diference between then is.... 2006 they swithced to a 2 wire only set up going to the ignition !!

this guy has 2 wires on the new igniton set he bought and made it into a 3 wire with the pink by soldering that other crap on there and splitting the wires. !!

i bought a brand new 3 wire plug the screws into the bottom of the ignition and the feul pump kicked right on !! and the bike started right up !

yess !! going riding sunday and yeah its only gonna be 46 degrees !! hahah **** it..
