Clutch slipping problem

I just picked up a 02gsxr 600. Ive got a +10 rear sprocket but I cant get it up in second gear. Even in first, when I slip the clutch it just revs up alot and take off. When I slip the clutch, it sounds like im releasing it slowly. I changed the plates and It didnt help. I dont think its the actual clutch itself becaue if I go into 6th gear at a low speed and fully open the throttle, it accelerates normaly without any overreving. If anyones got any ideas please let me know

Re: Clutch slipping problem

I know for sure its not the timing. It comes up nicely when the motor is still warming up. Once the bike has been running for a bit it slips everything I clutch it up.

Re: Clutch slipping problem

Are you using correct springs? maybe your steel plates are shot...are they grooved/discolored, you may have deep grooves in your basket & inner hub.

Re: Clutch slipping problem

try adjusting your clutch at the lever and where it goes into the clutch case, might not be engaging fully when you release it.

Re: Clutch slipping problem

What did you replace, frictions and steels? Did you even measure your plates and clutch stack to see if they even needed replacing? Lever freeplay? Measure spring tolerances?

You gotta know what your doin before you just go out and spend money and take things apart
