pump WONT turn on

so i just got a round bar and i wanted to take the tail off so i can mark holes on the subframe and drill....

took me about 30 minutes to find out how to pull the tail off...i thought i was gonna break it.

anyway, after i take the tail off, i rolled the bike to another location...about 100-150 feet away...just walked it over there.

when i got there, i tried to turn on the bike..but when i pushed the kill switch to ON position..it didn't make that 'beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep' sound anymore....the starter worked cause i could hear it but the bike wouldn't turn on.

there is two things on the right-side of the subframe that just attach there...kind of like a hanger. both with 4 wires going in them.....when i turn on and off the kill switch, a sound comes out of one of those things...like "tick tick, tick tick"...but no pump.

wtf did i do?

ohh and ya, somewhere in the proccess i noticed that by right bar end is gone...****** weird.

Re: pump WONT turn on

i looked at the service manual...the "thing that i was talking about are called "relays"

the one that the sound was coming out of is "engine stop relay" i think.

Re: pump WONT turn on

its NOT the
battery
tip over
kickstand
cltch
neutral

i think thatwhen i was taking the tail off, i somehow put too much pressure on one or both of the relays and damaged em?

i tried , replacing one with another, still made the ticking/clicking sound but no fuel pump.

Re: pump WONT turn on

okay so according to the manual & some other ppl, if the relay clicks, its okay? if this is the case, then the relays are not the issue

i have the entire sub-harness that goes through the tail disconnected(tail, light, signals, plate lights..etc) can this be causing it? is there something back there that HAS to be connected?

and as for the relays i didn't see a ground....just 4 wires goin into each.

Re: pump WONT turn on

Check fuses

Check the little red wire that attaches directly to the battery + terminal

Check the tip over sensor in the front, just in case

ur a genius man...it wasnt the fuses or the battery cables...but when i took the seat off to check for those things i noticed a little red cable under all the other cables which was loose....put it together and walla, i heard that "beeep" sound...the pump was on.. :YEAH
