Hard cold starting
Hard cold starting
my zx6r reads low compression while trying to crank over while cold, hard as hell to start , but after you get it started and warmed up it reads good compression whats the deal?
Re: Hard cold starting
How many miles on the motor? It sounds like you have a worn out motor. When you get low compression readings off of a cold motor, then somewhat normal readings after it warms up, that could mean that your rings are worn. As the motor warms up, all the metal parts in the motor slightly expand. As your rings are expanding, they are closing the gap between themselves and the cylinder wall, thus increasing compression.
Re: Hard cold starting
its not the ring or the valves is because the dam kawi cpu's make the bike run lean until it wars up......I tryed to get an explination why and they said it had something to do with racing them
Re: Hard cold starting
yes, needs valve adjust, after so many miles the valve start to seat in the head taking out clearance to the cam, theres probably no clearance untill the metals wrm up and expand. Get the valve adjust. very typical symptom for valve adjust.
