By finesse he means, accelerate from a stop more with your clutch by giving a little gas and getting the revs a tad bit higher...while you're letting the clutch out, you're dropping the revs at the same time until they meet somewhere in the middle...this isn't to say you should bang those revs off the limiter...just a few here and there...the whole process should be fluid and quick...you should be off the clutch completely in a matter of seconds and the motor shouldn't be reving out of control...this is the proper way to accelerate from a stop when performed accurately, it is also the proper way to smoke your clutch until you need to replace it when performed incorrectly...it can be the hardest part of learning how to ride, in my opinion, but when you learn how to use your clutch accurately, you will eventually be able to "feather" and "feel" your clutch's engagement so well that you could accelerate without even using the gas....a good way to learn how is to get on your bike, and park it facing uphill on a good hill with some good slope...now play with your clutch (always being ready to grab the brake if you start to roll backwards and arent ready for it)...the idea is to learn how to let the clutch out and give just enough revs for your bike to NOT roll backward or forward...the problem is that if the bike stalls, you might freak out and end up dropping your shiny bike, so i recomend have someone with you to stand behind you while you try to learn that "feel."

Re: clutch

not enough gas..............get a feel for letting the bike roll without using the throttle....let the clutch out smoothly without giving it gas.........then try to use the accelarator...........just remember to take your time and the best way is to go up and down your driveway or block to be safe..........peace!!!!
