Re: TL1000S running real rich
Log in to www.tlplanet.com, best and all TL info is there.
But I say you should check the TPS setting(throttle position sensor).
Is it coming up to correct temp?
It could also be, that fuel rail pressure is too high, release valve at the end of the fuel rail is stuck. Also injectors can be dirty and they are leaking, try some injector clean stuff.
Also always use fast idle when starting it. Because when the engine is cold, TL uses rich mixture untill it's fully warmed up. It stops using rich mixture when the temp is over 80Celcius. =176F? but some 97 models almoust never reach that temp, because temp sensor is located at the radiator. Later models where updated so that temp sensor is at the termostat housing, between the V. You can get 98 housing and modifi it, this makes it running correct mixture... But this is only for the 97 model.
Check the tlplanet, there was a thread little while ago, guy had a TLR which was running really rich.
