Possible Electrical Problem....

I have an '03 GSXR 600 and here lately when I go to start the bike I turn the key on and switch the kill switch on and nothing happens. Normally I here the fuel pump engage. So when I try to start the bike, nothing happens. I also get an F1 error on the display. Any ideas on the problem? Also once I turn everything off and try again it works fine.... Can you help a brotha out...
