600rr help!

Hey guys. I have a 2005 CBR600RR. It sat almost for two years as I was on leave. I ran it a couple time, did oil change, etc. Today I try to start it and all I get is clicking. Lights come on, I can hear the pump turn on but all I get is clicking when I press the start button. connected the battery too a electrical voltage jumper and the same thing occurred. I am not familiar with electrical at all. I know its something silly. The clicking seems to be coming from the relays right behind the battery. I want the forum's advice before I go spending money on parts that I do not need.

Thanks in advance

Before you spend money check fuses, and battery voltage is in spec, charge her up even if it is... then check voltage WHILE you try and start and see if it drops heaps. May be starter relay or a dropped cell.

Good advice

Also make sure your starter motor is turning over. It might be sticking. Tap it with the handle of a screwdriver while hitting the starter button.

Re: 600rr help!

you could have a bad battery, happen to me one time. autozone said the battery was good but i couldnt figure out what the problem was so i just bought a new one and it fired right up. if you dont want to spend the money ask a buddy to loan you his battery off his bike for a few mins to test it on your bike
