Cool crash techniques ???

ok so here goes pretty sure most of all out there stunting or trying to have crashed and i always hear its not if but when u do so i have been riding a few yrs n hav yet to tumble off my bike at high speeds thank god however i am now doin alot more stunt tries like clutch ups stand ups and endo's i read in some superbike mag in foodmax (while my girl was shopping + yapping about nothing whatsoever = gettin on my nerves lol that there is a right way and a wrong way to fall while crashing the article said something like u should not ball up as it could cause more and more severe damage ie bones breaking it stated that you should flatten your body out like a star to absorb most impact with minimal chance of major damage ( once again refer to bones breakin ) as a load of pain is not fun for anyone it happens so if anyone has any tips on how to better survive a tumble while stunting that would be greatly appreciated til then imma keep poppin it up n tryna master that brake

Re: crash techniques ???

That was one long ******* sentence!

Just tuck, roll, try not to hit anything solid, and don't **** your pants.

Re: crash techniques ???

The OP is talking about high speed stunts so I'm assuming you're talking about fast street/highway wheelies. Not much you can do in those situations. If you crash a wheelie at 100mph, chances are you're gonna get fucked up

all you can do in that situation is wear good gear and hope it works like it is supposed to. good jeans with hip and *** inserts are great for sliding down the road, and you will love a jacket with elbow, shoulder, and back protectors. if all else fails......chick dig scars

Re: crash techniques ???

How fast were you going when you slid out? I always think about the same thing at high speeds as of what I would do in certain situations.I wear a good leather jacket, gloves, good boots and kevelar jeans which wont hold up at 90mph but if I were to slide and roll a little I would be confident that my gear would hold up at high way speeds. I always think about deer tho. I live on the boarder of country roads so I can choose to ride for 100's of miles off into farm land and woods or 15min ride to the city. But I always think if a deer jumped out when I'm doing 70 in the country or faster what would happen.. I feel like the bike would come to a fast enough abrupt stop that you would obviously fly over the handle bars. I would worry tho about catching clothing or body parts on any part of that bike while be launched over the front and if not that slamming down on the pavement from 5ft in the air at 70+ ..

large animals and cars are my biggest fear. I am counting on going down around a turn or on a simple wheelie sooner or later unfortunately. It just bound to happen to anyone that rides aggressively so just make sure you're dressed for it and keep in mind every turn or tricky situations in mind of how the fall will turn out and I'm sure it will be less of a panic.

Glad everyone here that has went down is still riding tho. a lot of people ( squids ) that go down are to scared to ever ride again cuz the get so torn up from wearing shoes and a t shirt.

Re: crash techniques ???

I find it hard to believe that your first crash on the highway you were actually thinking about crashing strategy as you were going down and telling yourself not to tense up. If I wrecked on the highway I'd be like "oh **** oh **** oh **** this is gonna suck", then I'd probably stumble around and hope I didn't get hit by a car. Congrats on being OK though

Re: crash techniques ???

Well i was goin around 72 mph when the bike slid out from under me it was downhill on a sharp right turn which ive made hundereds of times over and over i think i hit a patch of oil at the bottom. The bike just wobbled and came from under me and when i felt myself lift off my seat that is when that oh **** factor came into my mind i crashed to the ground just as the photo in motopscho 231 post is head frst then shoulder and slid on my back as i rolled a few times i think it was 3 or 4 times not sure to fasst to count exactly. As i was tumbling down the freeway i saw when my faceshield cracked a bright blue bumper and rim just roll and swerve about 5 feet from my head and as soon as i stopped rolling i hoped on my feet and bolted to the shoulder then i gathered myself and went to get my bike. I am sooo sooooooooo glad i wore all my gear cuz it was hot *** hell out here that day and i was goin to see my brother and started to not wear my new leather jacket which i had bought a few weeks ago but damn i am lucky i changed my mind and went back in the house to put it on. My head and shoulder took most of the impact and my leg is scarred up a bit but nothin broken. As was posted i just relaxed and tried to brace for impact and worked out pretty good for my first major dump. Thanks to all for your tips as for my bike i had extended frame sliders on it so it saved alot more damage from happening i lost one on the side of the freeway and lost a mirror as well and my right side fairigs are all scratched up with some holes but could b worse i am now looking for some 2002 r1 fairings and clutch cover is leaking oil from a crack i think so i need those parts if n e one knows where i can get um cheap that would b great thanks again for all the input now i am for sure gonna step my stunt game up now that i got that fear of the fall outta me haha im ready
