DB bars on a 929???

What kind of risers do people use? I dont want to replace the triple tree if I don't have to. Kinda hard to find something to work when the triple isn't flat. Post pics if you got'em.

Re: DB bars on a 929???

Just drilled mine, and used the normal style...Never had any problem with the triple breaking, and its slammed down multiple times

Re: DB bars on a 929???

I have the DB clamps for the DB bars for a 929 . I got them from Freestyle Ingenuity about 2 weeks ago and decide to go with FI 0 degree clipons. The clamps are specially fabricated from the 929 triple. I got the setup for $165 and will sell it for $100 plus $15 to ship. Comes with Scary Gary Renthal Bars. Here is a pic of them on my 929.

Re: DB bars on a 929???

U have several options.

1. Freestyle Ing..... Risers - Very Good - But a little too high and some what difficult to mount.... and stabilizers have to be changed, Scotts/GPR don't work and Ohlins has to be reversed and raised 3/4 in. I've done 2 sets for friends and one for a team member!

2. Fly Racing has a universal mount that sits on top of the triple, easy to mount, not the strongest but this is the set up I have for now and it works great for the past 9 mths through several good crashes. I also had to reverse the ohlins stabilizer and rais it almost 1 inch but it works great.

3. Get a RC51 Top Triple and TAG risers (Easiest set up) but finding an rc51 top triple is hard....

4. Find someone w/ a machine shop or CNC and they can machine/mill a similar to stock w/ 1" thick alumium and make a top triple very strong and any set up will work!

- I have one being made right now!

Re: DB bars on a 929???

When you do the rc51 triple, does the front end sit lower??? Also, is it an exact bolt-up???

Same bolt up, and it's FLAT unlike the 929/954, You have to lower it like 1/2 inch but it's nothing!

Does the 1/2 inch affect stoppies at all, or is it really not noticable???

I just drilled the hole, and installed the risers, and tightend the bars first, then the mounts...so there is a small gap between one side of the triple and mount.

still holding up strong.
