WTF is wrong with this thing???

Alright, it's an 01 929. Just picked it up yesterday. When im going like 40-45 mph and try to clutch a sitdown in 2nd gear it comes up like a foot then falls on it's face. I used to have a 01 R1, and I also have an 03 gix 1k that would never have this problem. Is this bike really a turd? The only other bike I've had that wont clutch 2nd in a sitdown was my 01 zx6. This is all stock gearing BTW.

^^ It seems like it runs fine??? I can jump on anything and do a wheelie so I know it's not me. Im gonna try to put new plugs in it, and get it mapped. Then see what happens.

you just have to get used to it, when i first bought a 929 i felt the same way, then i went 1 down and had no complaints, just takes getting used to.

if you hammer on it through the gears and it runs fine and the clutch isn't slipping at all then, its just getting used tot he bike.

i had the exact same problem last year with my 929. I use to make me so mad then finally it all came together and it would bring them up. Just stay with it and once its up on one it doesnt want to come down and it feels like you can ride them forever.

So i dug a little deeper and found that it used to have a power commander, it still has the K&N so swapped that out. Seems to be a little better. Next im getting a pipe with a little more packing, so we'll see if the backpressure helps?

Re: WTF is wrong with this thing???

Im getting new gearing soon, so I might not know if the pipe makes a difference since it will be geared the same time the new pipe goes on. Im going -2+5 so I know it wont be a problem then.
