Re: How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?

i sucked at sit downs.. then decided to spend an hour on them one day.. if you want idle on sit down.. hug the tank with your legs.. it prevents it from wobbling, and gives you more control.. dead stop.. clutch it pretty hard, and let off the gas asap, let the idle pull it to the correct spot.. then be VERY gentle on the brake.. for sit down no handers i don't really tap the brake.. i kinda just grace it with a little pressure.. control wobbles and leaning with your shoulders.. just to ride a sit down.. still hug the tank.. clutch it up, apply steady pressur eon the brake.. and even it out with gas.. do that until you get comfortable with the bike being up that high.. and then u'll learn to let off the brake.. and just tap it when you need it.. if the bike wobbles, it's because you're being choppy.. 2 most important things.. hug the tank (don't sit back when learning) and correct with your shoulders

BP's pretty far back there, farther than you might think. and he was right about the bike coming up fast, when the idle's up to about 3K mine jumps up with just a touch of throttle.

yea, mike has it right, trust me you wont be able to see, try and look down the fork tubes to see whats in front of you. When i was learning them i was told to focus on one thing like the steering nut, i noticed it kinda helped but its hard for me to focus on something for very long anyways. It just takes practice. if you got standups its only a matter of time till you get sitdowns. as long as you work on them enough

Well I've been chasing BP for a LOOONG time... I just got it consistant about a month and 1/2 ago... finally... I guess it clicked that I need more throttle and less brake... and bam there it was miraculously... I was messing with sitdowns yesterday a bit.. cause one of the guys I ride with only can scrape sitdowns.. hahaha... so I was like wtf??? he's a really heavy guy though.. ??

I'd rather rid a sitdown than others because I do them all the time, but SS on the streets are cake
