How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
I've got standups pretty cherry now... now how the hell do I slow down sitdowns? lol..
how hard was it for you guys? like learning all over again?
or is it just another mental thing to get over again?

I think its easier to hit the brake sitting down.
I always wobble though.
I don't let the air out of my tires thats probably why.
Lean back like f4stunna is doing

wuzzup congrats on getting the standups down
its a trip to learn em. I had to get on a ninja 250 to learn em because im impaired when it came to sitdowns. The little 250 taught me the concept of sitdowns, so i could apply it to a big bike.
Ive been doing 20+ circles for a year now, standing up, but I just learned a basic sitdown today actually.
Re: How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
i learned slow standups in 2 days.
then i started nailing scrapes and parkin it and whatnot,
so this histamineblkr guy decides get jealous and rag on me for not knowing how to do sitdowns...
but his idea of doing a wheelie is sitting on the backseat,
going 2 mph in first gear, pull clutch in, bring it up to 14,000 rpms, then release clutch...

so it took me a long azz time to learn them,
a little over 2 weeks,
i think it would be easier for somebody to transition sitdown to standup then standup to sitdown

Re: How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
i didn't do sitdowns until i got bored one day...i used to close my eyes in standups so not being able to see anything wasn't a problem....for a straight foward 12 or no hander i sit back as far as i can against the rear seat...it takes a lot of weight off your arms and you can get that gansta lean like mr ryan smith..lol
Re: How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
i was having big trouble with sit downs on my 750 cuz its alot longer than on my r6, it likes to get wobbley. im still not real good at em but putting db bars helped a ton cuz im a short guy. and i started doing em with foot down to force me into putting my *** all the way back to the seat and that has helped keep em there.
Re: How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
i learnt sitdowns with 1 foot on the ground it helped me balance them real easy...
also try sitting down while you are rockin a stand up wheelie. that way u can learn to balance them

Re: How Hard is it to go from standups to sitdowns?
lol well it took me awhile to get over the height and how far back the bike needed to be for BP in standups... when I'm at BP.. I can't see over the front and I rock full fairings so I can't really see past the bike either.. hahaha.. I notice when i am doing stand ups.. I actually bend my left knee and kinda crouch down... maybe thats why I can't see...
when I tried doing sitdowns.. it was like.. learning how to power wheelie again.. hahaha... you gotta smash that rear brake just like in standups i'm sure.... bike seems SO much bigger and taller sitting down though..
thanks for the advice guys...

Yo, just pop straight up into em real fast... Same priciples... smooth throttle, just have fun. It's fun as hell to just rock em real high and whip back into sitdown coasters an ****.
