Re: coasters?

I think everyone has done the "why the ***** did I let the clutch out?" coaster crash when learning. No one knows why they do it, it just happens.

Re: coasters?

i've grabbed clutch on accident right before i was going to set down a idle wheelie, it was scarey but i managed it, specialy sucks cause once im rockin BP slowly i ajust my wrist/hand on the throttle and when i set down that idle wheelie by pullin in the clutch i had it bounce off the rev limitr for a secound before i knew what was happening.

It's not a bad thing really unless you're on the rev limiter.

Even if you are just reving it up a little, It can cause you to eat ****. I had my bike reved maybe 3,000RPMs more than I would be at it the clutch was engaged and when i let it out, it was enough to throw me off ballance and crash.

4-5 gear jeeze what are u doing like 75-80 mph. knucking futs I absolutely hate stagard standup revlimiter coasters. I've screwed em up too many times. I feel more comfortable being in spreader on the limiter than standup

Re: coasters?

people have been posting that you go past the balance point and then pull in the clutch. i have found that when going for distance coasters it works best for me to pull in the clutch right before the balance point while accelerating. then kinda let it drift into the balance point because your inertia is already pushing you back. try to use the least amount of brake as you can. you will go farther. sometimes i won't touch my brake for a few hundred feet at a time. balance is key bro.

yea for me so far all i do is 2nd gear with an occasional blip of the gas with the clutch in then i'll get right back into my wheelie, but i'm playin' with the clutch more and more. once the plastics are off i know i'll be playin' with everything a whole lot more.

Re: coasters?

If you want to do long coasters roll on the throttle to full and as you're almost getting to bp pull the clutch in and lean back, and your momentum will pull you to the coaster balance point.
