F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
Re: F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
^^ i kinda ran into the same prob. My buddy and I were jumpin the tip over sensor on his F4i down were the main harnesses connect and sumthin bad happened. i dunno what it was but now the fuel pump wont prime so the bike will not start. ive tried everything i can think of (puttin the wires back to how they were before i messed with em, reconnected the original tip over sesor unit and upper harness, checked all fuses and relays, swapped out ignitions, swapped out ECU's, manually connected the fuel pump itself to a hot lead to make sure its still good, followed the entire harness everywhere to make sure there wasn't any exposed wires, etc) and cant get the bastard to prime!! i've been troubleshootin this thing for over a week now and am runnin out of ideas, anyone got any tips on what i should try??
Re: F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
I'll add a little to this one. I just got done with the tip sensor and this is what I did. In the above pic showing the tip sensor you see a green, a red, and a white wire. I pulled the white wire out of the black connector (there is a small tab inside the conector and if you press it in the wire will slide out) Then I cut the green and red wires so they were the same length. Strip the ends back about 1/4"-1/2" and slide over a piece of shrink tube. Twist the wires together and soilder (SP) then together and after the soilder cools pull the shrink tube over and melt it down with a lighter. Then I wraped the end up with electrical tape so no water could get in and poped the connector back on and ziptied it to the 2 holes that were left from removing the tip sensor. Everything works 100% as it did before, well except for when my bike tips over now it will stay running LOL. I'll take some pics to better explain when I do my buddies bike in the next week or so.

Re: F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
whats the purpose of this mod? I've been practicing in the parking lot for a while now, and I can come back and scrape tail section, roll stoppies, starting to try circles and I've never had a problem. Just when i drop it and it falls over it dies, why is that a problem?
Re: F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
do you see what im saying?
is the tip over sensor supposed to shut the bike off at 12' oclock? Or just side to side...if its supposed to shut it off in a wheelie then mine must be really ****ed up...

Re: F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
the tip over switch is a pendelum inside a black box of oil. at a certian vertical height im sure gravitey will take its corse one day and pull the pendelum to the side and shut your fuel pump off and you will expierence a engine cut mouse trap.
Re: F4i Tip Over Sensor Help
On THe Main Harness For The Headlights Cut The Red And Green And Wire Them Together ON THE FEMALE SIDE OF THE PLUG ITS THE CLEANEST AND EASIEST WAY TO DO IT
