One bike is enough but two would be cool. I'd like to be able to close the bed, will 6 foot do that for me?

It's really not that bad but it doesn't grip like carpet. The ultimate would be some snap in carpet. It wouldn't be that hard to do.

If you angle it. Two will fit with their rear tires on the tailgate. Do you not own a tape measure?

I'm at work buddy I figured if I'm buying a truck to haul bikes in, I should ask the guys who used to haul bikes in thier trucks

sounds like general consensus is 6 foot will be fine, unless I'm missing something

The Explorer sport track type beds are the only ones that really don't work too well.

I like WNY better than Detroit. People are nicer, the bars are open later, and there are some decent slopes an hour away. More **** going on in Detroit though.

Don't get an s-10. Buy a 1/2 ton if you are going to haul your bike on the regular.

A full size truck with a 6' bed will usually be able to close the tailgate. If you want a mid size truck, you'll need a long bed which is only available with certain regular cabs. Your best bet would be to measure your bike and measure the truck you're looking at. I'm sure they are not all the same size. My F150 could close the tailgate on my 929 with it mounted straight but just barely. If you're willing to put the bike on an angle, you can close the tailgate on anything that's not a crew cab (1/2 ton or smaller).
