+1 / +1 yellow tail makes good cheap wine.....as do some other companies......just buy what's cheap but buy a real wine.....I buy a lot of cheap wine to cook with but I cook like Julia Child!!

+1 smoking loon is good and inexpensive......I mean you don't need a big bottle a 750ml bottle should get you feeling good......twisted is another good wine that's cheap......and it has a screw top......which is not a sign of bad wine anymore.....cork is getting harder and harder to come by and it's not an air tight seal......
the poor man's way of knowing a good wine is by the depth of the hole in the bottom of the bottle.....an ex taught me that.......so when you pick it up just feel the bottom.....if it's flat is a cheap wine.....if it has a deep hole it should be pretty good......
