Trust me, I work downtown, and I looked at moving downtown!!! its EXTREMELY pricey!

Chicago isn't expensive. Downtown is. Thing is if you have a job working downtown outside the service industry you get paid a lot more.

Re: Breakfast Club

I could never live out in hillbilly country. I'd have to live somewhat close to the city. The only place I could live and be cool with being that far away from the city is up near Breckenridge, Vail or Beaver Creek area.

Food still costa about the same and cars cost about the same. I still don't understand how they do it.

I would love to live out in the sticks outside of the city. Problem is yuppies also want to move out to the country and their idea of "Country" is having a 1.5-2 acre plot in a subdivision that looks just like the suburbs only the houses are on top of each other, but spaced out a little bit more.

the market is 'down' here too, but down for this area means that is still increasing, just not as fast as last year. we're about out of undeveloped land, so property values will never go down unless global warmign becomes an issue
