900RR fuel problems

My 99 900RR bogs like a ***** when there is not a full tank in it. I mean filled to the brim. The thing that sucks now is my tank is mashed like crazy and it holds alot less fuel so it is bogging all the time. I tried swapping tanks and fuel pumps and it still did it. What in the hell causes this. Is there a way to fix it. I need to figure this out because I am tired of bogging and slamming down in slow wheelies.

my 98 did that. even when it went down to 3/4 full it'd studder & come down. I just kept a gas can w/ me & kept that ***** full.

Partially the reason i just went fuel inected. that bitch is in reserve & still idles on the 12 bar. beautiful thing.

I used a 99 fuel pump and a 96 fuel pump. Both of them did the same thing. Is there a way to keep it from doing this? It is driving me crazy. It is bogging all the time now. Hard to be consistent with a bike that is choking its brains out.

If you are tryin a pre 96 fuel pump..it will not work. The bike floods out after riding a 12 for 30' and sputters. Only other thing is cut the brass tube off the petcock, remove the tank filter and install an inline filter.

Has anyone done or thought about throwing the FI system out of a honda 919 motor on a 900rr? I was thinkin how much I would like to get a 900rr but I just cant do it cause I hate carbed bikes and my friend who is a honda mechanic suggested swapping the harness and carbs for a harness and throttlebodies from a 919... Sounds like a good idea to me. The ultimate bike..

removing the sock filter and using an in-line filter does help, but if your tanks bashed bad, then its gonna have to be full to the TOP!

Jackass: i still havent been able to try a pre- 96 fuel pump, but why would it flood? 900's bog from lack of fuel. your sayin that a fuel pump is not gonna solve this?

The fuel pump gives it too much fuel and it basically floods it. I rode with the pump for about 10 min then took it off. The only thing I didn't try was a non-vacuum assisted petcock with the pump..i used the 98 petcock. From what I hear it wont matter..if still floods
