XSBA, what's your thoughts?
here's my insight on the xsba. clear channel owns it. 1500 dollars "lost" out of clear channels pocket is like me losin a nickel. that is nothing to them, they own like 80 percent of the nations media. they make more than that off one billboard in podonk, oklahoma. when clear channel can make it worth while to travel thousands of miles to compete for REAL money, instead of chump change, I'll be there. but until then I will continue to work at a bike shop and make it to every event I can that actually has spectators and my friends from around the country in attendance. Clear Channel could make XSBA huge in a matter of minutes using resources they already own, aka BILLBOARDS, RADIO, and TV. but they don't. to me that shows their not serious about it, therefor i'm sticking to my day job.
this is just what i have seen and heard. until stunting get real supporters aka: the big four motorcycle companys, coke, nike, ect...they arnt doing ****! this is a biz. and if they cant make money they wont spend money! the only way to make the kinda money that they are looking for is for moms and dads to spend it on their kids. (stunter dont have money)
go or watch a X-games how many kids do yuo see in the stands with their parents sitting next to them? kids see those guys hit those jump and they want the bike they are on. parents hear that and buy the kid the bike. now look at stunting yes there are shows which put the sport in a positive light. but at the same time soccer mom and dad see a guy pull up a fat wheelie on the highway in traffic. do you really think that mom or dad want to go right down to the dealer and buy their son a bike?? plus lets all be real as long as this is an illegal sport (for the most part) no big companys are going to put there name on it. i dont know maybe i dont know what i'm talking about... whats everyones else thoughts about this?

cmon
why would they be serious about putting loads of money into an event that only 10 out of 200 riders care to attend. and bro, the money aint no bigger for dan, teach or thew, but they make it to every event. why? cuz they, unlike you, are trying to help establish somethin.. and if yer good enuff, you can win and make $1000 in a weekend, and i know you dont make that at yer bike shop in a weekend killer!

theres no money in the world you can play the riders thats going to matter as long as the sport does not interest the mass population and make them want to spend there money on bikes, parts, shirts, show ect...
**** I want to compete in XSBA. How do I sign up
Its hard to compete being from the southwest. All the events are back east somewhere and thats a hell of drive to go just for the weekend. I spoke to Ken Abbott about bringing some of the events to the Westcoast. Hopefully in the future there will be some events closer to home
I think the XSBA is good for the sport. I would love to be a part of it and hope to one day

so far this year, two of the trips i have made were 28 and 24 hours-to iowa and effing kansas...i live in NH. suck it up.
the XSBA (READ: anything Ken Abbott and Thomas are involved in) is the ONLY SANCTIONED freestyle series in the nation. there is a championship. there are points. there is money. it is also held at racetracks where professional races are going on. This allows a different market to see the action instead of going to all these effing gay stuntfests with the same forty people watching and wrecking hotels, riding without helmets, and generally being jackasses. there are also major industry reps there watching the racers whom they sponsor...we should be taking a page from the racing book on how to get a sponsorship and come across as PROFESSIONALS, not "pros"...racers seem to have no problem obtaining large amounts of cash and product to do what they love and you dont see them racing on rat traps or riding around acting and looking like idiots....watch and learn.
it is run professionally. i will not attend any other event besides something that is a national championship type deal. try this on your sponsors: i came in 2nd in the National Championship this year....or try this: i came in 2nd at a stunt competition held in the woods, i also got kicked out of my hotel room and have tons of pictures with no helmet on to prove how much of a bad *** (read: idiot) i am
all you suckers out there who are trying to "keep it gangsta" are idiots. keep it gangsta somewhere i'm not. stop bitching about the sport going nowhere, because your actions are a major cause of this.
if you want this so called sport to go somewhere, support the events that are trying to support you. xsba and the people who run it are losing money (albeit, it is clear channel, but it costs thomas money to go to the events and run them), but they are still trying to further the sport....the sport everyone claims to be supporting. talk is cheap. lead with your actions, not your mouth or your baggy jeans, bandana, and boatload of loud and arrogant friends.
criminy, i'm going to choke someone in a minute, i'm so fired up right now.
see you dinks in daytona...biketoberfest along with xsba-now there are no excuses NOT to go.
and dont for a moment think i am attacking only a select few who dont go to these events, i'm attacking EVERYONE who doesnt go: this list includes chauncey, kyle, gorka, digidy, rick, and all the other nasty riders out there who i know got game-whenever i see them, i yell at them too-in so many words!
let the games begin....maybe i will ride my bike this month before i compete...hmmmmm....then again, maybe not.

i like xsba and wish it would get bigger...i've tried to get in there. i'm not the greatest and apparently not good enough to try my hand so i've never been allowed. i still go and pay the outragous 20$ to just watch for a day though.

the money is not all i was talking about. they don't have any promotions or advertising to try and help the attendance. nor do they have other side shows like fmx or BOSS stunt show. they simply aren't trying to make a event to cater to ANYONE.
i can't afford to travel all over the country that's why I don't go. I'm not sure if I can win or not. I will try my best, that's all I can do. And the one event that I definately would have attended and rode at was cancelled (Elkhart).
i know they mean well. but for the multi billion dollar mogul that they are, i know they could offer more to the riders and spectators alike.

I think that XSBA has the right idea. They make you send them footage of you stunting so that they can see if you're "track worthy" and that helps them put on a good showing for any sponsors that do show up to the events. And Kyle, Gorka and those guys did go to Daytona's XSBA......I know 'cause we followed them out that tunnel with Kyle on the top of the SUV holding the cooler and some cop stopped them. Steve and I don't go to XSBA shows just 'cause we aren't ALLOWED to compete. Tandem is against XSBA's "rules". But we do go support other events and in the future the LSBB has the potential to be big. I agree with Teach C6 though......you ride with NO GEAR......the big sponsors aren't looking to support that foolishness. But if that is okay with you.......then have it your way.

as far as the money goes....SUPPLY AND DEMAND. High supply and low demand simply equals low or no money. As a community, or as individuals, we need to prove our ability to make money for others, before we will get any of our own. Simply how it goes. Cater to the fans...give them what they want, ENTERTAINMENT. When the fans come for us, besides those same forty guys lol, so will the sponsorships and pay checks. And I totally agree with lack of professionalism keeping the sport from going to the next level. Wear your gear and act like you give a ****, not like your on spring break. Never mind I dunno ****
